In the form of a spectral jester on the Fool's Journey, Marottes (pronounced "muh-rowtz") creates haunted synthpop by fusing darkwave and ethereal electronica to guide lonely misfits on their path to self-discovery. With analog synths, distorted vocals, emotionally reflective lyrics, and visuals inspired by gothic art, tarot mysticism, and the abandoned corners of the Great Lakes and Rust Belt, Marottes encourages listeners to explore their introspective emotions and channel their fear into confidence to be able to dance through this wicked world.
Marottes is the music project of Mike Mytnick, who returned home to Cleveland, Ohio after a decade of working in TV production in New York and Los Angeles.
